Braves Missed on Offense

Baseball: World Baseball Classic-Team USA Practice

The Atlanta Braves made lots of moves this past off season, but the one move they didn’t make may keep them from making the playoffs. The acquisition of Lowe, Vazquez, Kawakami and the emergence of Tommy Hanson has propelled the Braves to playoff contenders once again. But wouldn’t it be nice to have Adam Dunn playing left field every day. I understand Dunn wanted an insane amount of money but he is proving to be worth every penny. If Frank Wren could have only known that Derek Lowe would produce a season where he is the Braves fifth best starter and post a 4.48 Era thru 27 starts, he may have chose to offer Dunn instead of Lowe. That would have erased the need for the aging Garrett Anderson. Dunn is not known as good defensive player but he would have to be better in the field than the light throwing, slow running, Anderson. Would have adding Dunn’s 34 Home runs and 90 RBI’s made a difference? How many games have the Braves lost because they couldn’t score 3 runs or more to win?  I would venture to say that Dunn would have made a difference in those games
